The Inca Empire was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. The civilization emerged in the 13th century and lasted until it was conquered by the Spanish in 1572. The administrative, political, and military center of the empire was located in Cusco (also spelled Cuzco) in modern-day Peru. From 1438 to 1533, the Incas used a variety of methods, from conquest to peaceful assimilation, to incorporate a large portion of western South America.

Games were exclusively held in Europe and North America for the first 60 years of their existence. The 1956 Melbourne Olympics were the first games held outside Europe and North America, this was followed by the first games in Asia in Tokyo in 1964. The first games in South America was the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games. There have never been an Olympic games hosted in Africa.

Established as the first step towards a larger pan-Arab state, the union persisted until the 1961 Syrian coup.

His work on Game Theory was instrumental in developing the Cold War doctrine of mutually assured destruction.

Founded in 1961, the Non-Aligned Movement is a forum of 120 countries that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. It was founded to advance the interests of developing countries, and is the largest grouping of states worldwide, other than the UN.
