Detailed map of Africa, ‘Africae nova descriptio’ from 1635. Shows the level of European knowledge of Africa at the time. Drawn by Willem Janszoon Blaeu. Elaborate hand coloured border showing vignette plans of the principal cities and figures depicting costumes of the inhabitants.
